Helping the Working Poor Tax Credit

Help yourself.  Help others too!  By contributing to the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit program (ARS 43-1088), you can earn a dollar for dollar tax credit on your tax return while helping support working poor families on their journey to self-reliance.  Donate up to $200 (single) or $400 (married).

If you are already contributing to the public school or private school tuition tax credit programs, you are still eligible to receive a Helping the Working Poor credit. You must file a standard deduction, including the Arizona short form, for this to apply. Consult a tax advisor to find out if you are eligible.

Donate up to $200 (filing status single) or up to $400 (filing status married) and receive a credit!  For more information, please contact our Development Specialist at azcharitabletax@homewardboundaz.org

Workplace Initiative

If you are interested in getting your company involved, join the workplace giving initiative that allows employees to allocate part of their state tax withholding to the Helping the Working Poor Campaign.   Because we know that not everyone is able to contribute to the tax credit directly, it has been designed so that the net amount received in one’s paycheck is not affected.  For more information on how to get involved, contact your Human Resources Manager or Payroll Representative.
